Dawn Byrne is the group’s 2019 Author of the Year

By a vote of her peers in the South Jersey Writers’ Group, Dawn Byrne was chosen as the group’s 2019 Writer of the Year. Ms. Byrne has for years been a published author as a contributor to the Chicken Soup for the Soul book series. Dawn has also been active in SJWG for years, helping coordinate and/or set up meetings and events and directing an ongoing Critique group.

Tom Minder has been contributing at SJWG events for years, but for all of 2019 he prepped the venue for the group’s monthly general meetings, a contribution that the board and other members sincerely appreciate.

Tina Gabrielle talked about pursuing multiple markets to expand your writing career opportunities.

The first general meeting of the year was also an opportunity to hear from bestselling author Tina Gabrielle on how to diversify your writing by applying your skills in multiple genres. Ms. Gabrielle’s presentation included ideas on how to choose multiple genres, relative to your interests and talent, and also how to apply lessons in writing craft differently for different markets.
