Some folks may think it’s a simple feat to write a story involving super-heroic characters, e.g. The villain breaks out of prison, beats the hero, but the hero then figures out a way to overcome the villain. End of story.

Does that sound boring to you? We hope so, because it sounds as dull as dishwater to Glenn Herdling. Before he became a writer of young adult novels, he was an editor and writer at Marvel Comics. In those hallowed halls, sometimes called the “House of Ideas,” Glenn learned the secrets of comic book storytelling under the tutelage of such mentors as Stan Lee, the father of the Marvel Universe, and Robert McKee, the world’s most sought-after lecturer on the art of story.

Here’s a chance for out members to tap into that legacy of superb story craft. Please join us for a night of culture, fun and ideas as Glenn imparts some of his secrets with the South Jersey Writers’ Group.
