Our Director of Programs has been busy this summer! Gerri has lined up a tremendous slate of authors who will speak about their works. It blew up our usual schedule of having a guest speaker on the third Thursday of each month. Here’s what we’ve done:
On July 21 we will host Warren Lehrer, who will present an overview of his journey fusing writing and design through the composition of books, animations and performance works.
We follow that on August 4 with science fiction writer Kimberly Unger who will delve into her breakout new techno-thriller featuring badass cyberpunk heroine Eliza McKay.
Our August Writers-in-Residence will take place on the third Thursday instead, August 18 (discussing Writing Across Genres), and our regularly scheduled September Writers-in-Residence will be held on September 1 (discussing External Conflict).
On September 8 we will feature award-winning author Sam J. Miller, whose debut novel, The Art of Starving, was an NPR Best of the Year, and received the Andre Norton Award for Best Young Adult Novel.
We will wind up September in a conversation with Lambda Literary Fellow, Author Naseem Jamnia on September 22.
And then in October, we’ll be back to our regular schedule. Looking forward to seeing you there!
