On Thursday, April 6 at 7pm, we welcome horror author, editor and actor Del Howison to discuss how authors can cultivate relationships with local indie booksellers. This is a virtual event, hosted on Zoom.
In 1995, Howison and wife Sue Duncan opened Dark Delicacies in Burbank California, a store devoted entirely to horror books, films and gifts. They have been featured on the SciFi Channel’s SciFi Buzz, the New York Times, the Daily News, Fangoria magazine and Bookcase magazine. The New Times issue on the “2000 Guide to the Best of Los Angeles” named them the “Best Horror/Fantasy Bookstore”.
Howison has co-edited several horror anthologies, featuring some of the best known voices in the genre. He has acted in a number of low-budget horror films and is the author of several books. His 2019 western novel, The Survival of Margaret Thomas was a finalist for the Peacemaker Award for Best First Western Novel by the Western Fictioneers.
Since we’re thrilled (literally!) to have such a prolific horror author, we’ll also spend time discussing the genre!
