The South Jersey Writers’ Group invites you to a virtual Holiday Happy Hour and Open Mic Night. We’re sad we can’t hold our annual dinner this year, but it doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate, share a toast and enjoy entertaining readings from our fellow writers. This will be our Annual Holiday Party!
Please respond on Meetup, link below, if you would like to join us for a fun evening. If you plan to read, please leave a message to that effect in the event’s message section.
As with any of our Open Mic events, and particularly for this final event of the year, we encourage all members to join us, completely irrespective of whether you intend to read. The more the merrier. Participants will have up to ten minutes to read. The order of the readings will be determined on a first come, first served basis. The two-hour event should allow twelve members to share their work.
Poems, short stories, blog posts, songs, and excerpts from a manuscript are all acceptable. If you’ve written a piece with a holiday theme, we’d love to hear it.
Also, the Board of Trustees will award the 2020 Writer and Volunteer of the Year. Pour your favorite holiday drink, settle into your comfy chair, and participate in the last get-together of the year. We hope to see you there.
